About PaycheckSmart
PaycheckSmart builds free paycheck calculators that show your real take-home pay — after federal tax, FICA, and your state's withholding — without a sign-up or a spreadsheet.
Why this exists
Most "paycheck calculators" either hide their assumptions or quietly skip things like California SDI or New York City resident tax, so the number they give you is off. We built PaycheckSmart to show the full breakdown — every line that comes out of your check — so you can see exactly where your money goes.
How we keep the numbers accurate
Every rate and bracket in our calculators is modeled from the official source — IRS Publication 15-T and the annual inflation adjustments for federal tax, the SSA for the Social Security wage base, and each state's own withholding guide for state tax. We keep the tax year visible on every calculator and update the underlying data when the agencies publish changes.
- We label every result as an estimate for a specific tax year.
- The calculators run entirely in your browser. We never see your salary and store nothing about you.
- We are not affiliated with the IRS, the SSA, or any state tax agency, and this is not tax advice.
How PaycheckSmart is funded
The calculators are free. To cover hosting and the work of keeping tax data current, PaycheckSmart may display advertising. Ads never change the math or what we show you. See our disclosure for details.
