Arizona Paycheck Calculator (2026)
Arizona taxes wage income at a single flat rate of 2.50% (one of the lowest flat rates in the country), applied after an $8,350 standard deduction for single filers. Because the rate is flat, every dollar above the deduction threshold is taxed the same, and there are no brackets to worry about.

How Arizona withholding works
Arizona's flat 2.5% income tax
Arizona moved to a flat tax structure and landed at 2.50%, a rate that applies uniformly to all taxable income above the standard deduction. The $8,350 single-filer standard deduction is subtracted from gross wages (adjusted for pre-tax items) before the 2.50% rate applies, so your effective rate on total pay is lower than 2.50%.
What else comes out of an Arizona paycheck
On top of state income tax you still pay federal income tax for your bracket, Social Security at 6.2%, and Medicare at 1.45%. Arizona has no state disability insurance (SDI) deduction or paid-family-leave premium withheld at the state level. Pre-tax 401(k), HSA, or health-insurance contributions reduce both your federal and state taxable wages.
